Device-only notebooks versus cloud notebooks

A notebook can stay on one device or use cloud sync.

Device-only notebook

Use a device-only notebook when you do not want to sync it to the cloud. The notebook is available only on that device.

Cloud notebook

Use cloud sync when you need access on more than one device or need to share the notebook. Cloud notebooks can support shared editing for people with access.

Choose the storage mode before you add important work. Keep a separate export when the work is important.
