Announcements, Calendar, and Chats
Use Announcements to broadcast important updates to your entire organization.
To create an announcement:

Open the Announcements area.
Select the organization (if you manage more than one).
Enter:
A title (for example, âÂÂGeneral Meeting 11/11âÂÂ)
The description or full message (meeting details, reminders, links, etc.)
Click Create.
Once created:
The announcement appears in the Announcements tab for all members in that organization.
Announcements are displayed in reverse chronological order, with the newest at the top.
Members can tap an announcement card to expand it and read the full message.
Announcements are ideal for:
Meeting reminders
Event details
Deadlines and sign-ups
Last-minute changes or cancellations
Calendar
The Calendar lets you quickly add events for your organization.
How to open the Calendar
Click the Calendar tab in the left sidebar.
Use the view controls to switch between Month, Week, and Day views.
Creating an event
In your chosen view, click on the time slot where you want the event to start.
The Create Event for Selected Times window will appear.
Fill in:
Select Organization â choose which organization this event belongs to.
Event Name â enter a clear title (for example, âÂÂOfficer Meeting â 4 PMâÂÂ).
Click Create.
The event will now appear on the calendar for the selected organization at that date and time.
Chats
The Chats feature keeps conversations organizedâÂÂwhether itâÂÂs a one-to-one DM, a small group chat, or a full course-wide channel.
Opening Chats
Click the Chats tab in the left sidebar.
Click the button to start a new conversation.
Direct Messages & Group Chats
Use this option to message specific people directly, outside of courses.
Creating a DM or group chat
In the Create Chat window, make sure the first field is set to a DM/Group option.
In the DM/Group name field, enter what you want to call the chat (for example, âÂÂOfficer Board Chatâ or âÂÂTutoring â Period 3âÂÂ).
In the @ Username field, type a username and click Add User to add each participant.
When youâÂÂre done adding users, click Create Chat.
Everyone added will see the new chat in their Chats list and can start messaging immediately.
Course-Based Chats
Course-based chats are designed for management and collaboration within a specific course (and optional subcourse).
These are ideal for:
Class-wide announcements
Homework questions
Group study channels tied to a particular class
Creating a course chat
Click the Chat tab and then the button.
In the first dropdown, select Course â Organization as the chat type.
Under Select Organization, choose the organization that owns the course.
Under Select Course, choose the course the chat should be linked to.
(Optional) Toggle Select Subcourse on and choose a specific subcourse if you want the chat to be limited to that group.
Click Create Chat.
Members assigned to that course (or subcourse) will now see the chat and can use it for course-specific communication.
